Happy Birthday: Elvis Presley

Forever, the first bad ass mutherf$%#er.
Let's pretend I got this posted a little over an hour ago,
when it was still technically his birthday, but I forgot until a moment
ago. Today, everyone's favorite (well not everyone's) bad ass,
Elvis Presley would've been 76 today. Down at
Graceland they had their big birthday bash (which would've been
killer to go to). Especially since Jennifer Holden was there...
You continue enjoying your afterlife Mr. Presley.

Here's one of my favorite Elvis songs, a tad dreary, but
a lovely song.

ELVIS PRESLEY - CRYING IN THE CHAPEL

And as most of us know, Mr Bruno Mars used to be
a little Elvis himself... cute. Hopefully he's toasting to the
late great king today too. Watch this if ye haven't seen it yet.

LI'L BRUNO MARS BEING ADORABLE

Delicious: Mike Posner "Please Don't Go (Acoustic)"

Ok. : ]
Awhile ago Mr. Posner posted a link to this here
video of an acoustic performance of his 2nd single
"Please Don't Go". At first, I figured "Cooler Than Me"
might make him a One Hit Wonder kinda guy, but his other
songs have some merit and if he can bust out live like that,
I'll give him a second chance in my book.
Watch this cutesy performance of "Please Don't Go".

Also, here's the video with the original version of the song (also cutesy):

Delicious: Lykke Li

If there was ever a reason to like Sweden, giving us Lykke Li is it.
The pretty, Swedish singer Lykke Li just came to my attention
a few months ago. I came to adore her and her music,
her last album Youth Novels hit the Swedish charts topping
at #3. She's not exactly blowing up in the States, but sooner
or later she will and I can say, hey you, I liked her first.
Take a listen to her new single, "I Follow Rivers".
If you're not too familiar with her, also take a look
at her video for her last single "Get Some".

TORI AMOS - YES, ANASTASIA

Delicious: Britney Spears "Leaked Demo"

You're so pretty Ms. Spears! :D

As verified by the gurl herself, this was an official
leak. On this track, it is clearly not Britney. Sounds oddly
like Ke$ha though.... kind of strange. The single is set
to release, also confirmed by the gurl herself, on January 11th.
The real version is supposed to sound way better as per
quotes by PopJustice and others. If anything. we got
an official cover art now!

The next time you hear this song, the production, vocal and structure will sound very different,

Revitalized: Ingrid Michaelson

Ingrid wrote this for Cheryl Cole, you fanatic haters.

Ingrid, it has been almost 2 years since you released
an album, and I'm beginning to have withdrawals. On Sept. 14,
2010, a few months after Ms. Cheryl Cole released it as a single,
the original writer released this (much better in my opinion) version
as her own single. I love this and it made my day the day I bought it.
Cheryl's version now seems so... drab compared to this, I'm holding
on for the time being Ingrid! Though these shakes and shivers
are really getting to me.... I need it!

Enjoy this official video of her single:

INGRID MICHAELSON - PARACHUTE

======================================
Ms. Cole's version is still good... but a musch lesser... amount... of... good.

I still love my Cheryl Cole, so here's her version,
and you, my dears, can decide for yourselves which
is better.

CHERYL COLE - PARACHUTE

Revitalized: James Blunt

It's no departure, but it's Cpt. Blunt for the Cpt. Blunt lovers.

Now I'm not saying I love James Blunt, he pretty much
cursed the world with "You're Beautiful" and I'm pretty
sure I'll be hearing it in my head until the day I die. This does
not mean however I have it out for him, he's a good guy and did
you catch him on Sesame Street? What a stand up guy.
People 'round the world love this guy, and I don't mind
the melancholy of his jam. Here's a vid of "So Far Gone", and
this album is out now stateside.

Revisiting: Justin Nozuka

Whatchu lookin at? Electric boogaloo two?

I've been listening to him quite a bit lately and just
wanted to share his music with anyone who might not
be acquainted with his music at all, which I suspect
may be A LOT of people. He's very talented, has
a great voice and has been at it since he was only
15 years old, like all the greats (Mandy Moore, Drew
Barrymore, Jewel, etc.) he started young and his pretty
voice draws me in again and again, here's a vid from
one of my favorites from his sophomore album "You I
Wind Land Sea", "Heartless".

JUSTIN NOZUKA - HEARTLESS

Also, the title reminded me of another fav band of mine
The Fray, here's them covering some Kanye West. Boo-yah!

THE FRAY - HEARTLESS (KANYE WEST COVER)

Delicious: La Roux "Sidetracked"

Are you looking at where my jaw dropped on the floor after I listened to this?

From the hands of Renaissance comes a beautifully crafted
mixtape featuring the omnitalented Ms. Elly Jackson.

Here's a tracklist:
1. Japan – I Second That Emotion
2. Heaven 17 – Come Live With Me
3. Joyce Sims – (You Are My) All And All
4. Hally & Kongo Band – Afrikan Man
5. Fever Ray – When I Grow Up (D. Lissvik Version)
6. Doris Troy – Just One Look
7. Freur – Doot Doot
8. Jam Crew – Exotic Nations
9. Ellis, Beggs & Howard – Big Bubbles, No Troubles
10. Fox the Fox – Precious Little Diamond
11. Tears or Fears – Suffer The Children
12. Blancmange – What’s Your Problem?
13. I Blame Coco – Self Machine (Coconut Candy “No Need for Plastic Palm Trees”€™ Elly Jackson Remix)
14. Paul Haig – Big Blue World
15. Kavinsky – Testarossa Autodrive (SebastiAn Remix)
16. La Roux – Under My Thumb
17. Gerry Rafferty – Right Down The Line
18. La Roux – Sidetracked (Continuous DJ Mix)
The 18th track is a continuous stream of the whole mixtape
as Elly wanted. It is magical, something few artists can do. I
searched and searched for this when it came out across
the pond, but came up empty handed. Finally found it, and
I am soooo happy. This'll tide me over til' she comes around
with a new album.

As a little bonus here's a great cover of Elly from another
favorite of mine, Miike Snow. Enjoy!

MIIKE SNOW - IN FOR THE KILL (LA ROUX COVER)

Delicious: Ke$ha Loves You

Fierce, oh... so fierce. Kinda spooked me.

If you don't like Ke$ha at least a little bit by now,
I don't think you ever will. This here first video is for those
of you who can't stand her, although it is no
longer Christmas time, still funny.

A VERY KE$HA CHRISTMAS

For the rest of us, "Feels Like Rain" leaked a long time ago, but
it's become one of my favs. Take a listen and decide for
yourselves if you still dislike her.

Revitalized: Amy Winehouse & Adele

Ms. Winehouse, it's been toooo long.

I've been an avid Amy Winehouse fan from the get-go and like
Fiona Apple and Adele, she's been gone too long. (Still waiting
on Ms. Apple's triumphant return) I was thrilled to hear this.
Here's a link to the fantastic Lesley Gore cover, from
the unmistakable voice of Ms. Winehouse.

AMY WINEHOUSE - IT'S MY PARTY (FEAT. QUINCY JONES)

==============================================
File:21Adele.jpg
Not the prettiest cover, but it's the cover of her NEW ALBUM! YAY!

Also, back on the scene with a beautiful song and
thrilling video is Adele Adkins with a new album entitled
"22", (Her last album being "19"). the new album is expected
in the US in 02/11, but in the UK 01/11. So you can
get it beforehand but yeah, not my place to discuss that.
Here's her beautiful bluesy tune "Rolling In The Deep". Followed
by a great remix by Voodoo Farm and an exculsive version
of it acoustically from www.perezhilton.com!

Delicious: Lissie AND Ellie Goulding?

Ms. Lissie
Ms. Goulding.

Found this enchanting video awhile back just can't
it out of my pretty little head, how can you argue when
two extremely talented people engage
in entertaining me? Or that crowd. (Just me.)

LISSIE & ELLIE GOULDING - EVERYWHERE I GO

Revitalized: Fefe Dobson

Fefe Dobson has been around awhile but just figured out
Stuttering has been hittin' the radio charts pretty hard, from
her album "Joy" that came out in 11/10. Had a couple people
ask me who she was so I thought I'd refresh people's
memories, here's a link to her vid and another vid featuring
Ms. Dobson in the new remix with Pusha-T.
